According to multiple news outlets, 1-year-old twins from Nigeria, Miracle and Testimony Ayeni who were born conjoined at the lower pelvic region have been separated after a lengthy operation at a Tennessee hospital.
According to a statement by Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, Memphis where the operation took place, they were separated following an 18-hour procedure.
The twins were born exactly a year ago to Mr and Mrs Samuel Olusegun Ayeni at St. Patrick Hospital, Enugu.
Immediately after their birth, the girls were taken to The University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), Enugu, where they were then referred to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), before being via an Arik sponsored their flight.
