You Won’t Believe What Will Happen To A Man For Burning N3.5Million Jeep

A 22-year-old man, Joseph Okwuese, has been arraigned before an Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ogun State for allegedly setting fire to a Honda Acura Jeep belonging to one Vincent Ajah.
Our Ogun State correspondent reports that the accused who had an altercation with the owner of the vehicle valued at N3.5 million, is facing a one-count charge of willful damage.
The police prosecutor, Sergeant Idowu Ogunleye, had told the court that the accused whose address is unknown, committed the offense on November 23, 2016, at about 8pm at the Arankange Iberekodo area of Abeokuta.
Sergeant Ogunleye said the accused set fire to the Honda Jeep with the number plate, EKY 106 CH, an offense that contravenes Section 443(A) of the Criminal Code of Ogun State, 2006.
When the charge was read to the accused, he pleaded not guilty and the magistrate, Fatimat Ojelade, granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Ojelade said the sureties must be civil servants on Grade Level 8 or above with the Ogun State Civil Service Commission and must be resident within the jurisdiction of the court and show evidence of two-year tax payment to the government.
